EBEEM RevisionI completed my MBBS in 2010 from Dow Medical College, Dow University of Health Sciences in Karachi, Pakistan. My postgraduate internal medicine training comprises training in Pakistan and Ireland as a part of the Health Service Executive Ireland & College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan scholarship programme. I have always been interested in medical education and am involved in teaching medical students and training junior doctors in Pakistan. I have also been an author of various question banks and review books for undergraduate medical students in Pakistan. I have been working for the NHS for the last 5 years. Initially, I began working as a Registrar and Specialist in Acute Medicine, and am currently working as Consultant in Acute & Internal Medicine. My area of interest is acute kidney injury and, as the Clinical Lead for Acute Kidney Injury in my Trust, I am also involved in improving the acute kidney injury service and patients' care.
I’m a Diabetes and Endocrinology Consultant at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital and an Honorary Consultant Endocrinologist at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff. I completed my graduation and post-graduation (MD Medicine) at the University of Delhi with a thesis on thyroid dysfunction. Following this, I had the opportunity to research neuroendocrine tumours, for which I was awarded an MD from Cardiff University. For this research, I won prizes at the European Neuroendocrine Tumour Society (2009), the UK & Ireland Neuroendocrine Tumour Society (2008) and the British Endocrine Society (2009 and 2011 respectively) annual meetings. I’m the editor of ‘Best of Five MCQs for the Endocrinology and Diabetes SCE’ published in February 2015, which remains one of the most widely read books by diabetes and endocrinology trainees in the UK. I have also published editorials/articles in peer-reviewed journals, and contributed to book chapters on neuroendocrine tumours, thyroid and parathyroid disorders in various textbooks.
I work as a Consultant in Diabetes, Endocrinology and Acute Medicine at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff. Apart from providing specialist care to patients with diabetes and endocrine conditions, I am also involved in research and teaching activities. My clinical and research interests include thyroid disease, obesity, diabetes mellitus type 2, and pituitary disease. During my specialty training, I received the Lewis Thomas Gibbon Jenkins Fellowship by RCP Wales to complete research on circulating extracellular vesicles in human obesity, for which I was awarded an MD from Cardiff University. I am a committee member of the Young Diabetologist and Endocrinologist Forum Wales, and in 2020, I was awarded the SfE Leadership and Development Clinician in Practice Award. Aside from my consultancy position, I have a keen interest in medical education and act as a tutor on the Postgraduate Diploma course in Acute Medicine at the University of South Wales.
I am Dr Krishnadas Thulasidoss. I am a Senior Consultant from India and practice acute medicine and rheumatology. I have done my General Internal and Acute Medicine training at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, England, and have worked across various NHS hospitals in the UK. I have also trained in acute care and cardiology in Brisbane, Australia. I hold the MRCP (UK) and have passed the SCEs in Acute Medicine (2010) and Rheumatology (2020). I am also an enthusiastic point-of-care ultrasound provider and perform echocardiography, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and emergency FAST ultrasound to my patients. I am interested in medical education and developing evidence-based goal-oriented resources for trainee doctors. I regularly contribute as an author to the SCE question banks in acute medicine and rheumatology for StudyPRN.
